The Endocrine Society, ENDO 2015: Society Introduction

Dear Colleagues,

This spring, more than 8000 endocrinologists from around the world gathered in sunny San Diego, California, for the Endocrine Society’s 97th Annual Meeting & Expo (ENDO 2015), held March 5 through 8, 2015. At the meeting, scientists and clinicians presented leading-edge research on the efficacy, safety, and application of the newest strategies and therapies in clinical endocrinology. The program included nearly 140 clinical sessions and symposia.

In this publication, we share some of the most significant clinical trials presented during ENDO 2015. The following articles in this edition of MD Conference Express® are based solely on primary data and are reviewed by the presenting faculty members, as well as the expert members of the Society’s Annual Meeting Steering Committee, to ensure engaging, accurate, and balanced information.

Read on for information on the latest comparative studies in combination therapy for diabetes, which includes ongoing trials of the impact and co-management of obesity. You will also learn about recent studies on management strategies to treat acromegaly, late-phase developments in growth hormone treatments, and updates in new therapies to treat thyroid cancer.

In addition to cutting-edge research, you will find special updates on emerging treatments and targets in osteoporosis, endocrine cancers, and cardiovascular disease and a discussion on the obstacles in transitions of care of patients with type 1 diabetes.

From this wide breadth of topics, we hope that you will find practical perspectives and useful information to apply in your practice.

We wish you all the best in the coming year and hope to see you in Boston for ENDO 2016, being held Friday, April 1 through Monday, April 4, 2016. For more information please visit ENDO2016.org.
