AB Evidence suggests that metabolic syndrome is associated with significantly increased risk of incident cardiovascular disease (CVD) and all-cause and cardiovascular (CV) death [Mottillo S et al. J Am Coll Cardiol 2010]. A clinical priority is to identify patients at risk for stroke and other CV events to enable preventive interventions and promote lifestyle modifications [Timóteo AT et al. J Clin Hyptertens 2012].
