Summary

Although many studies have shown a lack of effective strategies for the primary and secondary prevention of spontaneous preterm delivery (SPTD), there are several strategies that are effective. SPTD encompasses preterm labor and premature rupture of membranes, which account for about 70% of all preterm deliveries. This article discusses the data behind several strategies that are effective in the prevention of preterm birth.
