Summary

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is a distinct clinical entity with diagnostic and treatment challenges. Recommendations to improve diagnosis by incorporating new parameters are being developed by the HFpEF Committee of the Heart Failure Association and are reviewed in this article. There are no effective treatments for HFpEF currently and trials for new strategies are ongoing.
