AB  - This article presents a reanalysis of the three DIRECT with the aim of investigating whether candesartan reduced incident microalbuminuria in normotensive (blood pressure <130/85 mm Hg) and well-controlled hypertensive type 2 diabetes mellitus patients, using the less stringent definition of microalbuminuria of a single value >20 μg/min.
