AB  - For patients with type 2 diabetes and stable coronary artery disease (CAD), intensive medical therapy provides similar protection against myocardial infarctionand cardiac death compared with percutaneous coronary intervention but is not as effective as coronary artery bypass grafting among patients with more extensive CAD, according to new findings from the Bypass Angioplasty Revascularization Investigation 2 Diabetes [BARI 2D; NCT00006305] trial.
