Summary

Despite the significant breakthroughs over the years for the treatment of rheumatic diseases, many autoimmune diseases remain resistant to treatment, or response is incomplete. In a basic science session, novel treatments from the fields of stem cells, gene therapy, and therapeutic vaccines are described.
