AB  - The PADIS-PE study enrolled patients who had 1 prior episode of unprovoked pulmonary embolism. Analyses of baseline data found that independent risk factors for residual perfusion defect were older age, chronic respiratory disease, and right ventricular dysfunction at diagnosis. Low-molecular-weight heparin reduced the risk for residual perfusion defect.
