AB  - The risk of recurrent cardiovascular events in patients with a history of atherothrombosis remains high, at about 10% annually, despite the use of guideline-based, disease-modifying therapies. This article discusses strategies to address residual risk through secondary prevention in patients following an acute coronary syndrome, oral antiplatelet agents, and polyvascular disease.
