AB  - Genetic variants identified during the study of diabetes can be used as a tool to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie the pathogenesis of diabetes. These variants can then be used to identify biomarkers, develop new therapies, and stratify patients to the most effective treatments, which is discussed in this article.
