Summary
Reducing the use of opioid narcotics in bariatric surgery could lead to less morbidity, shorter hospital stays, more comfortable recovery, and lower costs. This article discusses a prospective double-blind study determining if continuous infusion catheters were effective in reducing narcotic usage and would be cost-effective in patients undergoing sleeve gastrectomy.
