PCC Reverses Dabigatran-Associated Bleeding in Polytrauma Model

Summary

In a porcine polytrauma model with dabigatran-associated bleeding, bleeding rates were reduced and 100% survival rates were achieved by infusion with 4-factor prothrombin complex concentrate. The effect of 4-factor prothrombin complex concentrate was further enhanced by the addition of tranexamic acid and fibrinogen. However, tranexamic acid and fibrinogen alone did not reduce blood loss or improve survival rates compared with placebo.
