AB  - The rates of contralateral prophylactic mastectomy are increasing in the United States, at the expense of unilateral mastectomy and breast-conserving surgery. Reasons include an overestimation of the risk of developing contralateral breast cancer, anxiety, an increase in the use of genetic testing, and a desire for better breast symmetry.
