Exclusion criteria included adjuvant taxane therapy within the past 12 months, previous platinum therapy, or nonanthracyclines for metastatic BC. Participants were randomized 1:1 to receive either carboplatin (C; area under the curve 6) or docetaxel (D; 100 mg\/m\u003Csup\u003E2\u003C\/sup\u003E) every 3 weeks for 6 cycles or until disease progression.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp id=\u0022p-5\u0022\u003EThe primary end point was objective response rate (ORR).
