AB  - Renal denervation (RDN) is a promising emerging treatment option for resistant hypertension, as well as other diseases that appear to be associated with sympathetic activation. This article discusses guideline recommendations for the diagnosis and conventional treatment of resistant hypertension; data of RDN efficacy and safety; investigational indications for RDN therapy; as well as the reasons behind the popularity and success of RDN.
