Summary
The optimal management of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) is based on multiple patient-centered factors. Emerging research is demonstrating that a broad range of factors including biomarkers and genetics may help to further refine an individual patient's disease characteristics and may in turn help guide therapeutic decision making.
