Summary

Microbial resistance to antibiotics currently spans all known classes of natural and synthetic compounds. There is a need for new compounds and targets to treat the resistant antibiotics. This article discusses the need for “promising chemical matter for prosecution of new and existing antibiotic targets” from a molecule-centered perspective.
