AB  - The United Kingdom Prospective Diabetes [UKPDS] Study was a landmark randomized, multicenter trial of glycemic therapies in 5102 patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus. This article discusses updated results, drawing on the UKPDS Post Trial Monitoring Study, which was conducted between 1997 and 2007.
