Summary

Pharmacogenetics, the study of the interaction between genes and drug therapy, has been proposed as a way to “personalize” medical therapy. It is a routine and expanding application in oncology. This article provides overview of progress to date for the use of pharmacogenetics in cardiovascular medicine and what is yet to be done.
