This study was conducted in patients with New York Heart Association Class III congestive heart failure, left ventricular ejection fraction = 35%, narrow QRS (<130 ms), and evidence of mechanical dyssynchrony via echocardiography, who were candidates for an implantable cardioverter defibrillator.
