Summary
Catheter ablation increasingly is being used to manage patients with atrial fibrillation. Symptomatic patients should be considered for ablation soon after antiarrhythmics have been unsuccessful. Patients should continue anticoagulation for 3 months following the procedure and should undergo postprocedure follow-up as suggested by published guidelines.
