Summary

Approximately 185 million people worldwide are infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV), and about 80% of patients who acquire the virus progress to develop chronic HCV infection. This article discusses current treatments, as well as the extrahepatic manifestations commonly associated with chronic HCV infection.
