Summary

The MR CLEAN trial evaluates the effect of intra-arterial intervention in proximal anterior circulation acute ischemic stroke. Endovascular therapy within 6 hours of onset improves functional outcomes compared with standard guideline stroke treatment. Intervention is beneficial, in particular, to patients older than 80 years and those in the lower modified NIH Stroke Scale categories.
