Summary
Translational and scientific advances in epilepsy over recent decades have directly impacted patient care, but much still remains unknown. The identification of a genetic basis of a form of epilepsy and a description of how an agent, quinidine, with in vitro efficacy provided effective treatment for a patient in the clinical setting are presented.
