Summary
In the VIDOS study, treatment of vitamin D–deficient postmenopausal women with vitamin D supplementation did not reduce the incidence of falls or improve physical performance. However, women who received 1600 to 3200 IU per day experienced a lower incidence of falls vs women who received placebo or lower or higher doses.
