Fondaparinux in superficial vein thrombosis of the legs decreases the risk of recurrence, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism. Treatment of cerebral vein thrombosis with low molecular weight heparin initially, followed by oral anticoagulation, reduces the risk of death and dependency.
