AB Patients with long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation experienced greater rates of freedom from atrial fibrillation or atrial tachycardia, with similar rates of complications, after empirical electrical isolation of the left atrial appendage plus standard ablation compared with patients who received standard ablation only.
