AB  - While human leukocyte antigen (HLA) matched sibling stem cell transplantation can eradicate chemotherapy-resistant leukemia, only 30% of patients are fortunate enough to have such a match. Therefore, studies began determining if HLA unrelated adult volunteer donors could provide an effective source of allogenic stem cells.
