Summary
The multicenter, prospective, observational SUP2 study demonstrates that algorithmic testing of patients with severe, recurrent, reflex syncope identifies appropriate candidates for cardiac pacing with a dual-chamber pacemaker. In addition, about half of patients had asystole; pacing in these patients reduced syncopal recurrence.
