Abstract

This article reports the results of a nationwide survey of the attitudes of college and university chief executive officers toward faculty unionism and collective bargaining. It shows that the attitudes of university administrators are more negative than the official policies of their institutions. The study also indicates differences in attitudes, policies and experience with union organizing efforts by geographical location and other factors.
