FACULTY ATTITUDE TOWARD JOB ACTIONS, THE UNION, AND THE ADMINISTRATION: THE EFFECT OF UNIONIZATION AT A COLLEGE CAPMUS

Abstract

The article reports an investigation of college faculty responses to a variety of possible bargaining impasse situations and some job action possibilities. It was found that faculty members showed a strong willingness to take positive job action in the event of an impasse over salaries, retrenchment, and workload. Attitudes toward union and management were also examined in the study and found more favorable to the union.
